F1: Ferrari Finally Pass FIA Crash Test
Ferrari Finally Pass FIA Crash Test
01.16.12
On Ferrari’s second attempt, they were successful in passing the mandatory FIA crash test before they could be allowed to participate in the upcoming winter testing.
Ferrari’s 2012 chassis, the 663 is now approved for testing. It is not clear what exactly happened on the first attempt at the crash test or what changes needed to be made. It must have been something trivial however, as it took the team no time at all to take another kick at the can.
The only details we do have is that the chassis was reinforced with carbon fibre to help protect from side impact.
Hopefully, this doesn’t play psychologically in the heads of the two pilots that will be sitting in the cockpits.
Would you be the least bit concerned?
