#F1 : Webber Creeping Up Alonso’s Butt
After nine rounds, we’ve had our second repeat winner. Alonso and Webber have been the first to break the streak of new winners per race stopping the trend at 7 different winners in 7 races. As such, the two have collected points steadily over the course of the season thus far and now sit at the top of the WDC standings. Ferrari’s Alonso had a 20 point lead going into the British GP and looked set to extend his lead until the inevidable happened. A few laps from the end, his soft compound Pirelli tyres were beginning to lose grip and the Spaniard fell into the clutches of Webber. With the victory, Webber has creeped up on Alonso and sits just 13 points back. Not far behind is Vettel at 100 points and Hamilton on his doorstep with 97. Any combination of wins vs DNF can quickly change the landscape of the race for the drivers title.
