The F1 Poet - Ernie Black


With the news today of Williams signing Bruno Senna, Rubens Barrichello finds himself on the outside of Formula One looking in for the first time in almost 20 years.

Rubens Barrichello has been in Formula 1 since 1993 when he was signed to race by Eddie Jordan. The young Brazilian showed much promise even after suffering from a serious crash in 1994 in Imola.  Eerily the same weekend that his idol, countryman and F1 Legend, Ayrton Senna (Bruno Senna’s uncle) tragically crashed and died. Rubens was injured on that same weekend and unable to contest that race.  F1 mourned the loss of both Roland Ratzenberger who crashed during qualification for the very same race.  A tragic and devastating weekend for F1.
