F1 Shocker: Titanic Conicidence In Shanghai

by on April 14, 2012

April 14th

Is a day of surprises

Memories bitter/sweet

It surely comprises

The mighty Titanic

Hits an iceberg

100 years later

Pole goes to Rosberg

An anniversary he shares

With an historical date

But it’s certainly one

For him to celebrate

His very first pole

And it comes in Shanghai

Half a second quicker

Then the next quickest guy

Which would have been Lewis

If not for his luck

His gearbox was changed

So in 7th he’s stuck

Schumi is next

In his Merc AMG

P2 on the grid now

He sits comfortably

Kobayashi sits third

Next to Kimi’s Lotus

Then it’s Jenson and Lewis

Pumped and primed to give notice

Webber lines up

Next on the grid

Beside Sergio Perez

Who’s quite a quick kid

Fernando Alonso

From ninth will dart

Planning to attack

With a blinding start

Romain Grosjean

Rounds out the top ten

Had he run in Q3

Who knows where he’d been

The surprise of the day

Isn’t Nico on pole

It’s Seb out in Q2

And in a deep hole

Might the champion be cracking?

Is this the end of his run?

Vettel’s 2012 season

Hasn’t been much fun

So on to tomorrow

For the Chinese Grand Prix

Who do you think

The winner will be?

While we celebrate Nico’s achievement, on this day, we should also remember the many lives lost in the tragic event of the sinking of the mighty Titanic 100 years ago.
