#F1 : REVISED 2013 Provisional Calendar

by on December 6, 2012

Earlier this week, the  World Motor Sport Council met in  Turkey and as a result, the FIA released a revised schedule for the 2013 Formula One season.   It is likely that with the omission of New Jersey from the Calendar, that a spot may have opened for Istanbul to host a race.  Other changes to note are as follows;

  1. The German GP moved to July 7,
  2. July 21 has been reserved (possibly Turkey) or another GP in Europe

NOTE: Austin GP promoters have requested a calendar date change for the USGP as it conflicts with the University of Texas football game against Oklahoma State.   To make matters worse, NASCAR has the 2013 Ford EcoBoost 400  at   Homestead-Miami Speedway on the same day as well.

Formula One is already fighting an uphill battle to capture the US market which it desperately needs.  This schedule conflict is not going to help F1 break further into the North American market.
